This is not to point who to blame for our unpreparedness to such an enormous calamity. If all the help were immediately channeled to the "barrangay" level already with an accustomed mode of manual operation prescribed; there could be no such thing as this chaos. Many of the relief goes to those who are not badly affected, in fact they were able to double their take because of their access to the relief centers. They could have been tap part of the manpower. But then it is always the survival of the fetish. A big number of college students could learn from this experience on a hands-on-basis of relief operations instead of letting them stay for a week long vacation. This is also an opportunity to let the people realize the effects of how we dispose our garbage. We certainly pray and hope that the plight of the victims are spared from any kind of politically motivated ideas that are counter productive to our nation. The bottom line is we have to practice communion of goods as a Christian; yet know how to manage our meager resources as well.

I was very deeply moved by the video. I am so very sorry, so sorry. It really hurts to see how much you have suffered. It reminds me of very bad flood we had in Poland 12 years ago. I feel so sorry for you, my dear Filipino friends.
I am praying for you and I promise to help as much as I can too.
